EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The concept of Circular Living Lab for learning, discussion and collaboration under the European Urban Initiative (EUI)

Topicality

There is a growing interest in using “living laboratories” (living labs) to develop and test responses to sustainability challenges present in urban areas. Cities become a place for learning and experimentation in the sustainability transition process. Living labs possess an essential practical base for the quadruple helix cooperation as an innovation and research platform where representatives of all stakeholders can meet, collaborate and innovate.

The aim

The aim of the Circular living lab is to support Riga City and municipality owned company Rīgas Centraltirgus in the sustainable transition by innovating new circular solutions in the service delivery and other initiatives, and promote cooperation between SMEs, knowledge institutions, public administration, and end users. The secondary goal is to develop a Living Lab as a good practice example to search for new ideas for sustainable solutions.

Your Identity

How Circular Living Lab will contribute
